The Indian Wells Masters, also known as the BNP Paribas Open is the first of nine ATP Masters 1000 tournaments and is held at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens in Indian Wells, CA. The tournament has become known as the “5th Major” and showcases the best men’s and women’s players.
The event routinely sets the bar for tennis tournaments across the globe and has been voted the best tournament in its category many times throughout the years. The Stadium 1 is the second largest in the world, with more than 16,000 seats and 44 suites.
In 2015, Swisstrax was contacted with hopes of having a solution to a problem the tennis facility was facing. Shortly before the event, a pipe had burst and flooded the grounds causing all carpets within the tents to be soaked and unusable. With Swisstrax’s perforated line of tiles along with the channeling system on the understructure, the system seemed as a perfect solution to the existing problem.
The Ribtrax PRO line of tiles replaced all 80,000 square feet of carpet. This coming October, BNP Paribas Open will be back and this will be the 7th year that Swisstrax products will be outfitting the grounds at Indian Wells. The tournament has continued to use the Ribtrax PRO as well as the Vinyltrax PRO line of products in order to remain one of the elite venues of the ATP tour.
